When I talk about future models, I'm not referring to the next Christy Turlington or Kate Moss. I'm speaking about the future models of doing business and more specifically, the business of helping charities extract the maximum donation dollars from their benevolent patrons. Sadly, many nonprofits have not caught on to the current status quo of charity fund raising. They are mired in the complex and difficult task of organizing volunteer help to coordinate the famous silent auction, bake sale or charity thrift shop. Okay, these models work...for the folks who need and want some tactile feel for their supporters...an opportunity to network and meet and give a higher level of interaction between charity and patron...but what about those of us who work long hours and fall utterly exhausted to our beds every night...vegetating in front of a television on the weekend? Don't we deserve a chance to participate too? There is a growing population of charity supporters who give to causes online. |

Being Flashy Isn't Always Good |

I'm constantly impressed with the gorgeous (ok better word...cool) Flash movies I see on websites. Being a hobbyist graphic designer myself, I know how hard it is to work in Flash and the amount of time needed to produce really cool and impressive Flash movies. |
